About: Derek has been involved in multiple sports for over 25 years, and has been the Executive Director of Softball Calgary since 2011. Derek has played many roles in sport including amateur and semi-pro athlete, program development, referee, coach and in the boardroom of several organizations. Derek has guided Softball Calgary through a rebrand and a strategic overhaul. He has also streamlined the organization so that it was able to adapt and persevere through the recent COVID-19 pandemic. Derek enjoys playing basketball, pickleball, hiking, climbing, and cycling in his spare time.
